Aloha!! from Arizona

This is an old pic. of us moving TO Vegas, and not back FROM. (so no one gets confused)

This is in Rocky Point

Finally a NEW POST!!! We again appreciate all those who still check out the Vegas Wolfington Blog, even though we do a poor job of keeping it current due in part to technical difficulties. I found some cool older pictures to share becuase we still have not been able to extract the ones from our digi. camera.
Anywho, we are down in AZ for the Holiday school break and we are having a great time with family and friends. We got to spend an entire week with Noah and it was great to be a normal family for a short stent. Noah is a great older brother and loves his little smooshie face brother a lot. We hope this holiday season is finding everyone in good spirits and with fun company! Cheers!

Sorry no pictures

dang man, if it aint one thing, its the other. Now the ibook screen went out so Liz can't post any pictures while I'm getting ready for finals next week. We have many blog worthy pictures so don't give up on us just yet. I have been spending every waking hour studying for finals, Liz and Eli have been holding down the home front. That's about it. Pretty boring here in Sin City. We can't wait to see everyone after the 15th of this month when we come down for Christmas!!

Vegas Fun

So I guess Liz downloaded these pre-AZ trip so we do have some pics to add for the time being.

Brandon, Catherine, and Miriam made the short 6 hour drive the other weekend becuase they care about us and wanted to visit. Doesn't that make the rest of you (who are within distance) feel bad for neglecting the Vegas Wolfingtons? Just (partially) kidding!
We rode the Big Shot on the Stratosphere and hung out mostly. It was fun, fun, fun!

test overlaod

Hello to all who still check our neglected blog. We forgot our camera cable in AZ, but we have a bunch of "blog-worthy" pictures in our camera, we just can't get them from one devise to the other. Plus I have been inundated with exam after exam after... well you get it. We are all doing well though, so don't you fret. Elijah and I are getting fatter and fatter as the days go by. Don't forget about us, we will soon remedy the camera issue!

First two tests down!

So here it is. La casa nuevo de Wolfington en Las Vegas. YEAH, how you like me now?! just kidding. My spanish is improving a paquito (little (i think)). I know I'm a nerd. Don't act like you are surprised.
Anyway sorry it's been a while, but I just got through with my first round of tests, which consumed me. I'm happy to report that after my best efforts, I am still a B student, which is fine and dandy by me. In other news, my toe is almost completely healed from being split open, due to saving that kid from the well. Yes, a well,... no I didn't kick the wall in the wee hours of the morning after thinking an intuder was breaking in... only to discover that it was the shampoo bottle falling to the shower floor. Six stitches and 6 days later and I'm walking (sitting mostly) normal and wearing shoes to class again.

To Mom:

We had a great lesson in Sunday School in our new ward wherein I learned an important principle that my Mom and her father understand and routinely practice. I write apologetically because of my unwise and immature outlook on the situation with regards to the sale of her house in Mesa. I am somewhat still trying to fully wrap my brain around the modern day application of this ideal due to certain economic theories I presently subscribe to.
When I first heard the scripture (and had it explained) I immediately thought of my Mom and this situation. I immediately saw her selfless point of view and how it follows perfectly with the scripture in Isaiah under examination in our class.

Isaiah 3:14 "The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses."

It was explained that in that day and age, the custom was for a farmer to make one pass through his field, harvesting as much product as he could, but the rest was left for the poor and needy. The greedy man would make multiple passes, collecting every last grape, leaving nothing for the poor.

My Mom could have made a "killing" on her house and priced it at "what the market could bear". Instead, she made her one pass through the field she had planted, then found a young couple (in need) and let them collect the rest. Amazing, and I am once again grateful for wise family that have lead me down the path of life.

Here are some good pics of us at different UNLV events. I tried to add pictures of our new casa, but apparently it is impossible to save pictures from a Word document!!! Computers can be so frustrating.

Reunion and Holbrook

We had an awsome time this past weekend up at the Markham reunion at Liz's grandparents cabin. The weather couldn't have been better; rainy, overcast, cool, breazy = PERFECT. We had it all; family, board games, horseshoes, homeade grandma stew, etc, etc. On the way back to Las Vegas we stopped by the Holbrook crew and ate some mindblowing Mexican food at Romo's (for those who know). Pictured is my awesome Grandpa Wolfington. We moved on to Flagstaff and spent some time downtown strollin' around in the cool mountain air. Yes... MAGICAL. The top picture is when Eli fell asleep in his swing one day when Mr. Mom was in charge and SO CUTE!!

I LOVE MY BOYS!!

Elijah had his first swim the other day and he didn't cry one bit. He couldn't see much due to the bright sun but he enjoyed himself none the less. Noah is such a good big brother! He put Eli to sleep once and held him like a pro numerous times.

Happiness is...

... a warm, crispy, taste explosion that is the classic BLT sandwich, enjoyed with the priceless company of your beautiful wife, while your precious 9-week old bundle of joy cozily slumbers away in a late-afternoon nap.

... more camping pictures

just a couple more pictures, and how could we leave out this one of Elijah smiling big (even if it is out of focus)

Black River Camping

We had an incredible time at Black River this last weekend with Liz's family. A PERFECT camping vacation (except we got skunked fishing at Big Lake). Good weather, good food, and great company. Thanks to Kevin and Cindy for orchestrating the outing and for everyone making the trip. Noah's friend David came and they had a blast fishing for Crawdads at the river.

We had a great turnout at Elijah's blessing! Thanks again to everyone who made it out and we're sorry to have missed those who couldn't make it. We had another great weekend down in Mesa with Noah and family.

Thursday, June 08, 2006

Our apologies to all of you whose heart melted after viewing these latest pictures (or any previous) of Elijah Dale Wolfington. I'm afraid we simply cannot be held liable for the aforementioned injury caused during said photography viewing.

ha ha. I know I'm a geek (Liz will second that). Pappa and Grandma came up to visit and they both say Eli looks like he should have been born on a reservation in a teepee (if you know what I mean).

Aunt Jill To The Rescue!!

These are some pics of Elijah and his cousin Cohen (Jill and Brad's boy). Also there is a good picture depicting Eli's naturally spiked hair. Jillian Lee flew up (with her angel wings no doubt) to our rescue and spent nearly a week imparting her experience, gadgetry, and overall helpful company. Myself, Martha, and Elijah are all VERY gratefull for her loving service.

ASU Grad. and fun in the sun

Steve graduated from ASU the weekend before last and we had a great time with a BBQ after also. I taught Noah the old-school hop-on-one-foot-to-get-the-water-out of your ear technique and the picture is really funny. Whoever didn't make it missed out on some great snowcones and world class ping pong. Don't make fun of Steve, he put on some sympathy weight for me!
