Sunday afternoon B.R.

Nothing beats the Sunday afternoon Bike Ride. So we finally found a bike trailer on Craigs. for Elijah and... he pretty much hates it! I think is is related to how much he abhors his car seat right now. You know... the straps and what-not. On the return route, he wiggled his arms out of the straps and tried to stand up and then cried the rest of the way after we told him to sit down. He is so independent now.

On that note, we are dealing with pre-nursery Eli at church and it is no easy task! It's hard enough during SS and the class we teach, but Sac. is a whole different ball of wax! The kid is non-stop. Liz and I could only laugh because the last couple of weeks, he has been acting so crazy during that hour, I'm sure people think we hop him up on sugar or something. Anyone have any toddler-sacrament activities that we could give a go?

p.s. don't hate us because we have the coolest beach cruisers this side of the Mississippi.

Those are cool beach cruisers! I hate that pre-nursery stage. I think if they are at least 1 and walking they should be able to attend nursery. Maybe we could start a petition?

Here's what works for us during sacrament. First, dont take him out unless he's screaming. It's way more fun in the hall so dont let him know thats an option or he'll scream til he gets it. We have special books and cars that are only in the Sunday bag so he is excited to see them each week at church. He also likes to draw now so bring pens and paper. Um... sit behind or in front of someone who likes to entertain him and wont be bothered. Take turns. You entertain him for 5 minutes while Liz listens, then switch. And least you get a little out of church. And lastly, BRING LOTS OF FOOD!

Old tupper ware containers with lids (in various sizes) are great and free. I agree with Jill, the foyer is way too much "FUN". When out in the foyer, our daughter has to stay in my arms/lap until stop screaming, and then we go back inside. This worked for our 3 yr old and now we're doing it with our 16 month old.

Yes, bring lots of food. Sit in the pews so he won't make as much noise crawling on the metal chairs or trying to escape between them.

Good luck!

LOL-lots of food is seriously the answer to everything. Besides the mean mess you'll have on the floor of the isle you sit.....you'll have a quite little boy.

Be careful: We're always down for bike rides, especially now that it's so nice outside. The seating arrangement goes as follows (pretty hard to picture) Big P, tandum w/ little P (kid size bike connected to P's cruiser), attached is the trailer w/ Quincy and Conway. Me, w/ baby seat on back, holding Tilley. So a week or two ago, we went on our family ride, Conway is the same when it comes to the straps and being restricted. He's 2, so Parker usually thinks, you're dumb enough to stand up, YOU'LL LEARN. His famous line "she/he'll learn." So on the way home from our ride, we hear Conway SCREAMING...we turn around to find 1/2 his body out of the carriage, his head dragging on the asphalt. He had reached out to grab a rock, and lost his balance. It was fun picking rocks out of his head. He had a nasty scar, covered by hair-luckily. So-be careful ;)

Those are sure fun bikes! I love beach cruisers. Me and Craig borrowed my grandparents for a date a couple times. I wish we even had bikes! But thank goodness for Craigs list. Sorry bout the whole sacrament trauma...yeah don't know too much bout what to do yet. Just learn so you can help me and Craig out when we get there.
